[Abstract] Maritime delimitation between China and Japan is an issue that is worth attention when it comes to International Law. It mainly involves the principle based on which Donghai continent shelf and exclusive economic zones are delimited. From the angle of history and International Law, this article analyzes the cause of dispute between China and Japan about Donghai and explains the theoretical basis in International Law. Besides, it presents different claims of both countries to this issue, combines the current situation and discusses solutions to this problem.
