The first ray of sunshine quietly danced into the room. Jack, a little boy of 8 years old, still lay in bed comfortably. The playful sunlight played tricks with him by dazzling his eyes. Relectantly, he opened his eyes. What a beautiful day! Time for flying kite!The boy jumped out of his cozy bed, saying goodbye to Mom and taking his kite and ran out of the house.

A few white and shiny clouds were floating in the sky. Birds were singing, the gentle wind was fondling his hair and his face. He finally came to the meadow just beside his house. Holding the line in his hand, he beganto run against the wind. Little by little, the kite rose up to the sky. Huh! What a beautiful swallow! Now, it was floating in the air, dancing with those white clouds.

The boy kept running and running, cheering jubilantly aoround the meadow, without noticing that the sky was getting darker. He was so happy that he forgot the time and to go back home. The wind was blowing harder and the clouds turning grey. Then, raindrops began to fell. The light drizzle wetted his hair, his clothes and his shoes, and the meadow around him.

The boy stood there quietly, with his eyes closed and his face towards the sky. The world seemed in complete stillness, only the wind and his heartbeats could be heard. slowly, he rose up his arms, as if embracing the whole world.

Some time later, the wind abated and the rain stopped. The grey clouds hid away and the sun was smiling at him again. Only at that time, the boy suddenly realized he had neglected his beloved kite. It was lying quietly on the meadow.

The boy rushed to it and picked it up. It was wet all over. But, with the warmly shining sun, it became dry up again shortly.

Up in the sky, a swallow kite was dancing with the white clouds, with the gentle wind, and with the cheerful laughters around the meadow.
